Bedell Cellars is the premier winery on the North Fork of Long Island and one of the wine world's up-and-coming stars.
A nationally recognized leader in quality, Bedell produces critically acclaimed blends called Taste, Gallery, and Musee with artist labels commissioned from Barbara Kruger, Ross Bleckner, and Chuck Close, respectively. The Corey Creek Vineyards label, also grown and produced by Bedell Cellars, is renowned for its Gewurztraminer and an exquisite dry rose.
Bedell's owner, Michael Lynne, former Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of New Line Cinema and Executive Producer of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, is raising the bar for quality among Long Island wine estates. He has installed a world-class winemaking team led by Consulting Oenologist Pascal Marty, formerely of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Founding Winemaker Kip Bedell, Winemaker Kelly Urbanik, and industry veteran Vineyard Manager Dave Thompson.
The Bedell facility is unmatched regionally for its sophistication. The new state-of-the-art winery was completed in 2005 and boasts custom designed open-top fermenting tanks and a gravity-driven regime to minimize pumping and filtering. The tasting room is housed in a renovated potato barn originally built in 1919. It showcases an impressive collection of contemporary art on display for the public, including works by Cindy Sherman, Sam Taylor Wood, Uta Barth and Sarah Morris. A new outdoor grand tasting pavilion contructed of nearly 4,000 square feet of mahaogany was recently completed, offering visitors a sweeping view of hundreds of acres of vineyards and open farmland.
