0n the East End of Long Island, winemakers pray to the sea. About 75 miles east of Manhattan, the island's twin forks open like a crab claw. Between them is Peconic Bay, with the North Fork jutting into Long Island Sound and the South Fork in thrall to the Atlantic Ocean.
